Now that there is a test for markers for the dun coloring, and some striped horses are testing negative for them, there seems to be even more confusion in some circles about what colors "make a dun".

These pages will attempt to display what effect dun has on each of the four basic horse colors (black, bay, brown and red (chestnut)), what colors the bodies of duns can be, and what colors and kinds of markings they usually (or occasionally!) have, etc.
